INTERREG V A-Projekt Wadden-Agenda 2.0
Six project partners from the Netherlands and Germany participate in the cross-border funding project Wadden Agenda 2.0 with a total of eight work packages. The cross-border project focuses on the cross-border development and implementation of environmentally sound and sustainable tourism to preserve and protect the Wadden Sea ecosystem.

The overall objective of this small-scale project is to develop a light pollution monitoring network within the Wadden Sea area that combines different measurement methods to achieve reliable results. Project partners are the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute of the University of Groningen (lead), the universities of Aarhus and Oldenburg.

LANICE - North Sea wide acceleration of LANding offshore energy while mitigating Impact on the Coastal Environment
LANICE aims to support the achievement of EU renewable energy targets and climate change mitigation objectives while preserving the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site. LANICE aims to provide mitigation schemes to effectively reduce environmental impacts by investigating environmental conflicts and acceleration potentials for transmission grid projects for an environmentally sound energy transition.
The project is in line with and supports the implementation of the Wilhelmshaven Declaration 2023 (paras. 25 and 26) and The SIMP Integrated Management Plan for the ONE Wadden Sea World Heritage 2023 (Key topic Energy).
The project is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) and the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation (TWSC).
PROWAD LINK - Protect and Prosper
Under the motto "Protect & Prosper", the Interreg VB North Sea Region project PROWAD LINK aims to unlock the potential of natural areas such as the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site and promote it as a driver for sustainable regional development.

The Wadden Sea is an important contribution to the world's nature and a major tourism destination. Tourism must work sustainable, as a way to better protect the unique natural values of the area and in accordance with the economic importance of tourism. The task is to balance these demands on both sides of the border. The project will work to fulfill the guest's desire to be involved and connected to the area. Shift the focus from what nature can do for you to what you can do for nature.
