Landmakers Coöperatie U.A. is one of 3 entities of the Holwerd aan Zee (HaZ) Project, aiming to meet future challenges of the Province of Fryslân (NL) for rural development, demographic and climate change. LM is a best practice for modern participatory society, “balancing people and nature” (Diederik Samson, head of cabinet EU Commission Timmermans, coordinating Green Deal). Founded 2014 by citizens, businesses, nature associations, and government, it shapes the Province by an integrated bottom-up approach – following The New European Bauhaus for sustainable living.
